Norcross vs Collins Hill “Battle for 4th

Collins Hill Eagles (5-4) began the season winning 5 of their first 7 games but have lost their last 2 games scoring 10 total points. Coming off a 38-3 loss to Peachtree Ridge, the Eagles find themselves in a must win situation to clinch a playoff berth. Leading the charge for the Eagles is 2017 QB Monty Horn, who has established himself as one of the top performers in the county. Horn’s go-to-guy is 2016 WR Canyon Slade, who is an athletic playmaker for the Eagles. Defensively, they are led by a pass rushing dynamic duo in 2015 DT Miles Fox and 2016 DE Tomon Fox.

Norcross Blue Devils (6-3) are the two-time defending champions for the AAAAAA classification and find themselves in a must win situation to receive a ticket to the playoff dance. The Blue Devils started their season on a hot streak as well winning 6 of their first 7 games, including wins over North Gwinnett and Tucker. They’ve lost their last 2 games scoring a total of 2 points which includes a 30-0 loss to Mill Creek.  Offensively, they employ a two quarterback rotation with Seniors Jacob Gassert and Griffin Barker.  The offensive weapons for the Blue Devils are 2016 RB Jamir Billings, 2015 WR Jared Pinkney, and 2017 WR Jared Simpkins.  Defensively, they are led by a dominant defensive line which features 2015 DE JB Kouassi and 2015 DT Dorian Kithcart.

This game will essentially be a playoff game for both teams. The winner will move on to clinch the final playoff spot for Region 7-AAAAAA while the loser will have an early start to offseason workouts.  In last year’s matchup, Norcross came out victorious 28-0.  Will the defending champions win and have a chance to defend the title or will the Eagles be the team flying high at the sound of the final horn?  #GGRgameoftheweek
