1Buford Wolves3-0
Buford continues to prove why they are the #1 team in Gwinnett County. They overcame all the adversity and beat a very good team in Mceachern 27-20 Friday night. Buford had the biggest test of any team through the first 3 games and they stepped up to the plate. They have a bye this upcoming week then will roll into region play where every team wants a shot to beat the Wolves. Next: Sep 19th at White County
2Grayson Rams2-0
The Grayson Rams are officially back!!! The Rams beat one of the top teams in the state in Langston Hughes 26-16. Cameryn Brent ran for 196 yards and 2 TD’s. The Rams defense held Langston Hughes to 164 yards total offense. Next: Sep 12th at Archer
3Peachtree Ridge Lions2-0
Peachtree Ridge jumped on Parkview early defeating the Panthers 41-24. WR Tyler Campbell scored 3 touchdowns, 1 on the ground and 2 through the air. With over 70% completion rate QB Chance Thrasher threw 2 TD’s and ran one in from 57 yards. Next: Sep 12th at McEachern
4North Gwinnett Bulldogs2-1
The Bulldogs get back on the winning track with a victory over Hillgrove 28-21. The Imatorbhebhe brothers accounted for nearly 200 yards total offense and 3 of the Bulldogs 4 TD’s. Backup QB Ayinde Russell threw for 68 yards and a TD completing 4-6 of his passes. Next: Sep 19 vs Collins Hill
5Dacula Falcons2-0
Dacula makes the biggest leap this week moving into the #5 spot after an impressive victory over #2 Mill Creek last week 28-21. Dacula is a very well coached team and they have a few players that can make the big play which can change the outcome of any game. Next: Sep 12th at Berkmar.
6Lanier Longhorns2-0
Lanier defeats Clarke Central 35-20 in their first region game. Junior RB Ashton Barnes ran for 224 yards and 2 TD’s. RB’s Tario Fuller had 2 TD’s and Marcella Baity also had a TD. Both Stefan Ball and Jorrdan Jones had 2 interceptions. Ball leads the county with 4 on the year. Next: vs Flowery Branch
7GAC Spartans3-0
GAC moves up a spot in this weeks rankings to #7 after traveling to Henry County last week defeating Eagles Landing Christian Academy 23-16 in an exciting game that came down to the last possession. The Spartans start the 2014 season 3-0 and have a week off to prepare for region play. Next: Sep 19th vs Hapeville
8Norcross Blue Devils2-1
Norcross falls to #8 after a disappointing shut out loss to Milton 26-0 Friday night. The Blue Devils opened the 2014 season with a huge victory over Tucker then beating Brookwood and maybe things were just happening a little fast for this young Norcross team. They have a bye this week so they can regroup and get ready for region play in what most would say is the toughest region in the state. Next: Sep 19th at Mountain View
9Mill Creek Hawks1-2
Mill Creek couldn’t overcome three 2nd half turnovers in the loss to the Dacula Falcons. QB Daniel David showed his athleticism with over 200 yards total offense and 1 TD on the ground. Next: Sep 19th at Duluth.
